This is what I am all about; giving you the tools, the space and the knowledge to experience what is possible – that when you are working with your mind and body - it will transform your life.
I offer carefully curated classes, 1-1’s and events support you to uncover what you already have within you – happiness, contentment and fulfilment.
And the variety of ways you can engage with me means you can choose the way that best fits your lifestyle and your needs, as you are today.
First, about mindworks…
About me
Hi - I’m Lauren Ham
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here!
My approach to meditation and breathwork is that it should be accessible, it should be enjoyable and it should give you the energy and the tools to live your most fulfilling life. This is your right, and it is within your grasp.
I teach practices which have transformed my own life in many ways, and it’s my mission to support you to live your life more and more in the present moment, enjoying the incredible benefits that naturally and effortlessly follow from doing this work.
How I got here…..
I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Psychology at the University of Cardiff. And since then I’ve had a varied career; working in prisons to support men and women to address their addiction before release, running mentoring services for people experiencing homeless and addiction, and as a strategic commissioner in the NHS work to reduce the health inequalities faced by marginalised communities in our population. As an empath, working with marginalised or disadvantaged people meant that I carried a lot of emotion home with me from my work day, and when a friend suggested mindfulness as a useful tool 13 years ago now, things began to change…..
The journey unfolded…
I practiced mindfulness meditation for many years before training in the Transcendental Meditation technique which I practised exclusively for 4 years. It was a technique I loved, but as I learnt more about myself and other modalities, I wanted to experience more…
I began a journey of discovery into the full breadth of meditation and breathwork practices. I tried many techniques, delved into the their histories and particularly loved learning about the science and neuroscience of different practices. This journey led me to a qualification as a meditation teacher by The British School of Meditation in 2022 where I was awarded a Distinction for my portfolio of meditations and understanding of the history and context in which meditation sits in our modern world. Just this year I graduated from a 300 hour Conscious Connected breathwork training with the wonderful Pat Divilly, and I find myself now able to offer the full suite of meditation and breathwork practices which have transformed my own life.
What floats my boat?
I have a particular interest in making these ancient and beautiful techniques enjoyable and easy; a way to engage in a wellness activity that not only bring about quick and varied benefits but also feels good. I also know that the real magic happens outside of the practice, in everyday life activity which can become more expansive, liberating and exciting through a practice of living in the moment - not for the moment. I am fascinated in the neuroscience of meditation and breathwork, and the scientific evidence of its impact and benefits is often a feature woven throughout my workshops and events.
My happy places…
I live in Devon, UK, which is a place I love. I was born here, and while I lived away in London and Cardiff, there was no question that I would return to the moors and sea.
I live with my wonderful husband, very cute 2 year old son, and delightfully fluffy cat.
My perfect day would definitely include a sea swim and walk along the beach, some time to read, some good food and wine and the chance to socialise with friends and enjoy music. More often than not it also includes a short sitting meditation or breathwork sessions, but I practise in many different ways now, and my overall goal is really to live life as a meditation by being in the present moment as much as possible and enjoying the incredible fruits that this has to offer.
