Here at mindworks meditation my mission is to bring you the transformative power of meditation in a way that is enjoyable, and that genuinely fits into your life.

Meditation should make you feel good. Ready to live life to the fullest. It should make you feel more you.

It is a practice which can take you back to your natural state of being; giving you the opportunity to access the full power and energy of the mind when it is unburdened by unhelpful or incessant thought patterns. This is what I am all about; giving you the tools, the space and the knowledge to experience what is possible – that when your mind is working for you, it will transform your life.

Carefully curated meditations, classes and events support you to uncover what you already have within you – happiness, contentment and fulfilment.

And the variety of ways you can engage with me means you can choose the way that best fits your lifestyle and your needs, as you are today.

First, about mindworks…

About me

Hi - I’m Lauren Ham

Thank you for coming by this site!

My approach to meditation is that it should be fun, it should be enjoyable and it should give you the energy and the tools to live your most fulfilling life. This is your right, and it is within your grasp.

I believe that meditation is more than just sitting in the traditional way, but is more about cultivating a practice that allows you to live your life more and more in the present moment, enjoying the incredible benefits that naturally and effortlessly follow.

How I got here…..

I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Psychology at the University of Cardiff. After developing an interest in addiction and recovery, I moved to London to work across a number of prisons, supporting men and women to address their addiction before release. During this time, I began practising yoga, and soon after found meditation. It was the tool I hadn't known I needed to cultivate a mindful balance between my work and personal life, and it soon became a personal practice that genuinely provided me a benefit in every area of my life!

The journey unfolded…

and I practiced mindfulness meditation for many years before training in the Transcendental Meditation technique which I practised exclusively for 4 years. It was a technique I loved, but as I learnt more about myself, and about the full breadth of meditation, mindfulness and spiritual practices from my reading and personal enquiry, I wanted more…

So I began a journey of discovery into the full breadth of meditation practices. I tried many techniques, delved into the their histories and particularly loved learning about the science and neuroscience of different meditation practices. This journey culminated in my qualification as a meditation teacher by The British School of Meditation in 2022! I was awarded a Distinction for my portfolio of meditations and understanding of the history and context in which meditation sits in our world.

 What floats my boat?

I have a particular interest in making meditation enjoyable and easy; a way to engage in a wellness activity that not only bring about quick and varied benefits but also feels like fun. I also know that the real magic happens outside meditation, in everyday life activity which can become more expansive, liberating and exciting through a practice of living in the moment - not for the moment. I am fascinated in the neuroscience of meditation, and the scientific evidence of its impact and benefits is often a feature woven throughout my workshops and events.

My happy places…

I live in Devon, UK, which is a place I love. I was born here, and while I lived away in London and Cardiff, there was no question that I would return to the moors and sea.

I live with my wonderful husband, very cute 1 year old son, and delightfully fluffy cat.

My perfect day would definitely include a sea swim and walk along the beach, some time to read, some good food and wine and the chance to socialise with friends and enjoy music. More often than not it also includes a sitting meditation, but I meditate in many different ways now, and my overall goal is really to live life as a meditation by being in the present moment as much as possible and enjoying the incredible fruits that this has to offer.
